Aux Merveilleux de Fred: meringues and brioches

Aux Merveilleux de Fred is famous for its meringue cakes, as the name suggests: a merveilleux is a cake made from two meringue bases with whipped cream, topped with whipped cream and caramelized meringue pieces or nuts

I was a little skeptical because I'm not a big fan of meringue, pavlova or even macarons as they are usually too sweet. But these petits are very good - just enough sweetness and the creaminess of the whipped cream.

But honestly, I came here for the handmade freshly baked, delicious chocolate chip brioches. They are so tender and fragrant that I can't resist them.

This little patisserie is located in the beautiful Leadenhall Market (sorry, I lost one letter in the photo). I wish there were more places like this in this market that could breathe life into it because at the moment it seems to be the only attraction for Harry Potter walking tours.

So, I encourage you to go and try this scone and tell me where in London you ate better.
